Brutal and merciless killings have claimed dozens of casualties in West Papua recently. It has been acknowledged and confirmed that the civilian armed group led by Egianus Kogoya is the group responsible for the brutal action.
Records from the past few months have been proven that the same group is also responsible for a number of criminal actions and killings that occurred in the last six months in Nduga District, Papua.
Following are a number of criminal records by Egianus Kogoya and his followers;
1. Shooting of the Dimonim Airplane, on June 22, 2018,
2. Shooting of the Trigana aircraft, on June 25, 2018,
3. The attack on civil communities, on June 25, 2018
4. Hostage and rape, on 3-17 October 2018,
5. Murder of development workers, on December 1-2 2018
6. Attack and killing of security members, on December 3, 2018,
7. The shooting of a security helicopter, on December 4, 2018
One of the latest incidents in early December was the most terrible event in the past year. At least 24 people were declared sadistically and mercilessly killed. Dozens of these people were actually professional workers who had no political interests whatsoever when they were at the scene of the ruthless murder.
They are none other than workers who make a living for their families back home. It has long been known that they were not combatants or related to any groups that possessed weapons.
But sadistically, this group calling themselves West Papuan freedom fighters came to invade and kill them mercilessly.
It is unfortunate that in the era of diplomatic negotiations and peaceful struggles at this time, some ruthless individuals and parties still choose sadistic, ruthless ways of fighting. This situation raises the big question, what exactly are they fighting for?
At the same time, we are also struck when international media in developed countries such as New Zealand (Radio NZ) and Britain (BBC) continue to show their support for the groups of armed civilians that are clearly responsible for the sadistic killings.
There is a common saying that only those who are called terrorists will try to attack and kill their opponents and then hide in a crowd of civilians when they face a counter attack.
These terrorists use civilians as a living shield for their lives. They also killed innocent, unarmed civilians as a form of resistance. These people are those who actually had no direction and courage when fighting.
Would you still call them freedom fighters?
